Eczema is term for several medical circumstances that cause the skin to become inflamed or even irritated. The most common type involving eczema has the name atopic dermatitis, or atopic eczema. Atopic refers to a grouping of diseases through an often inherited tendency to formulate other allergic conditions, including asthma and hay temperature.
